Dear King Charles III: Weaponizing the granting of royal titles trivializes the monarchy

Stop being so petty King Charles!

King Charles III is probably a good man. I am not going to lie, I have always held a bit of a grudge because of how he played Diana. I have always felt that he did her wrong. If he knew he was in love with another woman, he should have been man enough to handle that situation and leave this innocent 19-year-old virgin alone, is how I see it. He destroyed Diana, and sent her reeling, and we know how that all worked out. But he is probably a good man anyways. Ok, so there was the recent scandal with the money in plastic bags that he accepted from Saudis or Qataris. Millions of pounds. And it is being investigated by the police and one of his closest advisers will probably take the fall. He said the money was for his charities and who am I to question the king? Whatever happens, thankfully his mother is dead so he is now the king and he has sovereign immunity. He cannot be charged with any crimes. Thank god for him.

So, as I said, other than those two things, and the fact that he allegedly questions Harry about what color Harry and Meghan's children would be, he is a good man.

The thing that perturbs me about the King at the moment is the issue with the royal titles. The withholding of announcing that Archie and Lilibet are now Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet strikes me as petty and vindictive. Because they made this whole big excuse about why these children did not get titles in the first place and they sent their goons on TV to lambaste Meghan and Harry when they suggested that the titles were being withheld because Meghan inherited some black genes from her Mother Doria. They said it was because the kids were great-grandchildren which, between you and me, was a weak explanation given that other great-grandchildren had the title of prince and princess.

Now that the Queen is dead, King Charles is stalling on making the announcement about the children. I am not into this whole title thing myself. I have even advocated that Harry and Meghan decline the titles. But my personal feelings are irrelevant to this analysis. There is a protocol and there are general rules and this is irregular what they have done to these kids. Why haven't those kids been granted their royal titles to date? King Charles has made other title announcements immediately after the Queen passed. He named himself King Charles III for one thing and he announced title changes for William and Kate who already were overladen with titles like two work-weary camels. And I say this with all due respect. And of course, his "darling wife" was upgraded to "queen consort."

But he has remained mum about Archie and Lilibet.

This is vindictive. And now everyone can see the whole thing with the seating and the uniform at the funeral of Elizabeth was also vindictive and petty. And why is he treating his son in this way? He should be proud of Harry. He raised a fine boy who has grown into a fine young man with his own family. This young man has chosen to stand up for and protect his wife and family. He put them first. This is the way it should be for every man. You put your wife and children first. Why does that make Harry a bad man to be treated with disrespect in this manner? Harry is a good man. Charles and Diana raised a good, young man.

Shame on King Charles III.

He of all people should know better considering that he is not perfect himself in these matters and he has not always behaved correctly and has not always done the right thing, and now he has us all calling his kept-woman Queen Consort. We don't even have a choice in the matter. He made sure his dying mother locked the deal up practically on her death bed, to make sure it went down smoothly with folks. But here he is, hanging his son out to dry and using royal titles for his son's children to exact his revenge. He has basically weaponized the granting of royal titles. And chances are, Camilla is doing nothing to dissuade him. She is probably egging him on and instigating as some people have suggested. Because she knows that Harry is not okay with what both of them did to his mother.

How petty!

How petty!!!

Diana is turning over in her grave and soon she is going to go and have it out with Queen Elizabeth! And you know what? It does nothing but makes the whole monarchy and everything it stands for look and feel trivial. There is no depth there. It is a superficial, built on sand operation. Soon, if King Charles III isn't careful, it won't even be there.
