So Meghan is not the "Poster Girl" British Princess Like Diana. So what?

Meghan is not the archetype of what a British Princess Is

If ever there was a poster girl British princess, Meghan Markle obviously is not it. First of all, she is not British. But second of all, it's the optics. The quintessential British princesses have simply not looked like Meghan Markle. She definitely is not the "archetype."

They are totally different in hair type, for one thing, and for a princess, hair is very important. I love Meghan's hair and I am sure Meghan loves her hair, but even in my circles, which are diverse, I have heard people criticizing Meghan's hair.  They find it lacking in comparison to theirs, or to other British princesses. It is a phenomenon I find utterly bewildering. Because some of these people are my friends. And my hair is not the type of hair that is valued in society. My hair does not compare to Meghan's hair. So, when my friends diss Meghan's hair which is so long, lush, and beautiful from my perspective, I can't help by wonder what the heck they think about mine.

But I digress. This is not about hair. This is about the poster girl British princess. What does she look like? Well, she is caucasian. Let's just say it. She does not have slanted eyes. Neither does Meghan, but that is just to say that she is not Asiatic, and she is not African in features. She is Caucasian. Right? Her skin color will be a shade of pink, peach, orange, red, or beige. Right? Now, you can argue that Meghan, without a tan, is also peach-colored.  And that would be true. She is not naturally chocolate brown like a lot of people of purely African DNA. She is mixed with European DNA and her largest organ, her skin, is closer in teint to her European roots than her African roots.

No British princess to date has had African roots. If we are talking about a poster-girl British princess, let us just be frank. The only connection British princesses typically have with African roots is during royal engagements or holidays when they observe the "natives" of some "exotic" locale from a safe distance.

Not even Kate Middleton is necessarily a poster girl British princess in looks. She is caucasian and she is British so these are two essential elements, and her hair is fine without chemical straighteners. This is also a big plus for her.  But she is not exactly a poster-girl British princess in the way Princess Diana embodied that term. No one really looks at Kate and thinks she looks like a "rose." Princess Diana on the other hand could pass for the English rose stereotype and this is the type that typically would be the poster girl British princess.

But even if Meghan is atypical as far as poster girl British princesses go, she could have been given more of a chance in the role. They turned on her so quickly as if they had only been tolerating her as if they were just waiting for her first faux pas to kick her to the curb. It is true that the British press has not always been kind to their princesses. Look at Diana, Sarah, and even Camilla. Sometimes they have also been mean to Beatrice and Eugenie. But there has never been anything like the scorn they have heaped on Princess Meghan. It is as if they wanted to punish her extra for not being a poster girl British princess they are accustomed to.
