A Day in the life of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

MEGHAN, DUCHESS OF SUSSEX IS JUST LIKE THE REST OF US

Meghan Markle Duchess of Sussex is more like the rest of us than you might think. She is totally relatable and down to earth. Today, Page Six did a story of her getting "retail therapy" amid "backlash" from "Deal or No Deal" "bimbo"-gate. In the article, they shared some simply lovely photos of Meghan wearing a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and a halter-top pantsuit with sandals. She had gone to a homeware store in Montecito with a friend.
According to the Pagesix article:

The Duchess of Sussex wore a strapless green Malia Mills jumpsuit, which she paired with an olive sweater, an oversized brown hat, sunglasses, and sandals. She completed the look with a braid.

Did you hear that? A braid! This is the first time I have heard of her wearing a braid; it is so exciting. I live for the day when she goes all out with a full head of buttocks-length braids. OMG. It is going to be epic!

But I digress. This post is about a day in the life of Meghan Markle. Well, look, she wakes up really early because she has two young children who are up early. She and Harry take turns with the kids but Meghan does a little bit more of the "mommy duties." Harry is right there, don't get me wrong and he knows that Meghan expects his help and he gives it. But she is definitely a little more hands-on with the morning rituals with the kids.

So, she wakes up and jumps out of bed, and does her yoga and meditation. Then she has some quiet time before the kids wake up. She and Harry sometimes use the time to catch up. She catches up with emails and does a little browsing online to see what is happening.

Then the kids are up and need her attention.  So she attends to them. Whether it is a diaper change for Lilibet or helping Archie find a missing toy. She and Harry will usually work together by giving them their breakfast by 7:00 a.m.

After the kids have been taken care of, if it is a school day, it is all about getting Archie to school. Meghan and Archie's dad take turns with that. Quite often, she takes Lilibet in the car in the back seat but other times, Lili stays home with her mom and/or the babysitter.

On the way back from dropping off Archie at school, she may stop for a latte at the local coffee shop.

When she gets back home, she has her to-do list and that quite often includes a short workout in the gym followed by a shower. Then it is straight to the office.

Meghan and Harry share an office and they log as many as 7 hours a day of work at the office. There are a lot of phone calls and emails to attend to. Both Meghan and Harry are workaholics and they have an amazing work ethic. They really enjoy their work and take pride in all the things they get to do for others. Of course, they have a little baby so their work has to be balanced with taking care of her and they do take many little mini-breaks to pick her up and play with her and take her outside in their garden.

Lunch is around midday. Meghan usually tries to make sure they eat healthy so she might make a healthy salad. Harry takes more risks with his eating than Meghan and neither of them is above ordering in from a local restaurant depending on what is going on that day.

Meghan really values her friendships as does Harry so they do take time in the afternoons to give different pals a call or facetime. Harry keeps up with as many people and friends in UK, so he spends quite a bit of time on his phone.

When Lili goes down for her nap is about the same time that one or both of the parents have to go pick up their son, Archie who is in pre-school. Once Archie comes home, he wants to have a snack, which his mom lovingly prepares for him while she questions him about his day.

The afternoon hours seem to just evaporate quickly.

While Archie plays on the living room floor with one toy or the other, and Lili is amusing herself in her playpen, and Harry is on the phone dealing with one of his partners or charities, Meghan begins dinner. She really enjoys cooking for her family. It is one of the highlights of her day. Yes, she does have some domestic help, but she tries to do most of the cooking herself. Obviously, at only 1 year old, Lili's dinner is baby formula. Archie is still too young to have dinner with his mom and dad every day so his mom feeds him dinner around 6:30.

She and Harry have their grown-up dinner after the kids have been fed and put to sleep, usually around 7:30.  Most nights, they stay in and play word games, watch TV or surf the Internet. Occasionally, they go out after dinner to a concert or to a pal's house (like Oprah, and others) Meghan's mom is a huge help with overseeing the babysitting and making sure the children are taken care of when Meghan and Harry goes out. Naturally, the couple also has a security team that remains at the house while they are out with their bodyguards in tow.

Bedtime is usually around 11:00 p.m. for both Harry and Meghan.
