Will Harry and Meghan Attend King Charles III's Coronation on May 6 2023?

Are Harry and Meghan Going to King Charles' Coronation

There is a lot of speculation about whether Harry Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex will attend his father King Charles III's coronation next year. And there has also been speculation about whether the King will ban Harry and Meghan from his coronation.

A lot of the controversy comes from Harry's hotly-anticipated memoirs in which it is alleged that he has thrown his stepmother Camilla Queen Consort under the bus. Many in the media are saying that indeed he has and there have been weeks of reporting that he has been desperately trying to edit the book now that the queen has died. In fact, right after Hary and Meghan returned to California following their attendance at the Queen's funeral, Harry's memoir has been the biggest story in town.

There seems to be a consensus that if Harry indeed threw his stepmother under the bus in his memoir, his father will ban him from the coronation. This begs the question of "how petty is Harry's father?" I guess it is not a question of petty necessarily. It is about what it is when a man loves a woman. What did they say about that? "He will turn his back on his best friend if he put her down." And Charles has proven, I think, that he loves Camilla. Look at all that he did and all that has happened and they are still together. So, I would have to concede that point, that he loves Camilla whether I like it or not.

Thus, if Harry threw Camilla under the bus, it will obviously upset Charles. Harry and Camilla seem to have some difficulties in their relationship and there is speculation that Camilla could be instigating trouble between Charles and his younger son.

I don't think Harry threw Camilla under the bus; however, he was paid an inordinate amount of money for his memoirs. I think the highest figure I heard was an advance of $35 million dollars! This is a lot of money! Would they have paid him all that for a bland book about how much he loves his own wife? I don't think so. He has to bring the drama. So while I tell myself that there is no way that Harry would throw Camilla under the bus, what do I really know?

And if indeed, he did throw her under the bus, would Charles be all that petty to say "don't come to our coronation"?

Things got a little bit more complicated when it was learned that Charles had chosen Archie's 4th birthday for his coronation. You have to figure he had 364 other days of the year and he chose that one. Why? Some people saw it as a slight against the Sussexes. I have a different opinion on that, but I could be wrong. Maybe it is all part of a bigger master plan. So if Charles does not like the memoir he can just disinvite Harry and Meghan from the coronation, but Harry and Meghan can say that it was because it was Archie' birthday. Who knows?

My hunch is, at the end of it all, the Sussexes will indeed attend the coronation. Because after all, it is they who will bring the star power. And everybody knows it.
