The Daily Beast Alleges that "Ruthless" King Charles Wants Prince Harry and Meghan Permanently Exiled. This is False

The Daily Beast Tom Sykes is totally wrong about King Charles Wanting to Permanently Exile Prince Harry

A recent article by the Daily Beast by Tom Sykes alleges that King Charles is done with his son Prince Harry and wants Harry to stay in America to avoid bringing "distractions" to the Monarchy.  While no sources are named, the author of this dubious piece says it was revealed to him by a "friend" of the King.

Apparently, the royal family wants Harry and Meghan exiled in a similar manner that Edward and Wallis were exiled in 1936. As proof, the author points out Harry and Meghan's "humiliating" second-row seating next to Beatrice and Eugenie at the Queen's funeral in September.

This is all conjecture and gossip and holds no truth whatsoever. King Charles is a very practical man who wants to go down in history as having been an effective, successful, and beloved monarch. He is not going to be able to do that all by himself. While he and Camilla are charismatic and interesting, it is a matter of time before the British people grow bored of their story, and thus, by extension, with the monarchy.

Sure, there is William and Kate and their three lovely children and the British people clearly adore this family. Kate's outfits will occupy the press for a bit, and William's appearances, too, will be written about. But it will not be enough to hold the country's imagination for even one year.

The country and surely the press needs something to write about.  Harry and Meghan bring glamor and excitement. They are dignified and exhibit a tremendous amount of grace under fire. They have shown they are unbreakable and indomitable. They have also shown that they will continue to make appearances, and participate in many charitable causes through their foundation.

Like it or not, what they do will impact the monarchy and King Charles is aware of it.

Also, while many in Britain may despise the Sussex's, many also love them. And this is true not only in England but around the world, especially in the Commonwealth countries where the duo are very popular.

Charles is a smart man and his wife, Camilla is even more astute. While they may resent Harry and Meghan's decision to move to Montecito, they know deep down what was going on behind the scenes to drive Meghan out of the Monarchy, first of all.

Second of all, they know that notwithstanding the petty jealousies and resentment, Meghan and Harry have the kind of star power that Charles' monarchy needs. Charles is not as charismatic as his mother and he is only going to get the benefit of "new kid on the block" for a few months. After that, he has to shape his monarchy and he has to make it as inclusive, tolerant, and exciting as possible. He will not be able to do this while keeping Harry from his homeland.

Harry has always insisted that he intends to keep the doors open to come and go between the U.S. and England. He never intended to abandon England or even the Monarchy. He has a home there, Frogmore Cottage which he and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex paid millions to renovate. He wants his children to know the side of their heritage which is English. He is in court fighting for proper security for his family as we speak. He is not in exile. This is a fantasy on the part of the author of this Daily Beast hit piece.

At the end of the day, also, blood is thicker than water. Charles is getting to be an old man and he knows he only has two children and he wants to keep his kids and their families as close as possible, not exiled.

The public will be seeing a lot more of the Sussexes in England now that Charles is King.
