Life in Montecito California is very idyllic for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and her husband, Harry Duke of Sussex and their two children Archie and Lilibet. The couple and their brood live in a palatial chateau with impressive parklike gardens that include an extensive play area for their kids. Both parents spend a lot of time outdoors with their children in the gardens. They also have a little "farm" area where the children help raise chickens.
Meghan and Harry's children are very happy. They are growing up in a healthy, wealthy environment. According to a recent article in the Cut, when you walk into their home, you can feel the wealth. People like Piers Morgan would like you to hate the Duchess for living in a nice home in Montecito. But if someone gave him one of those homes, he and his wife would trip over themselves to own it.
People are sometimes jealous of people with wealth. I am not going to lie, I sometimes get jealous too. Because nobody who is rich ever says "being poor was better." But people like Meghan and Harry are hated for their wealth.
This can get into their heads and they can underachieve. I hope they don't let that happen. I hope their abundance will be the limit of the sky. And, of course, they should help others who don't have when they can. But I am not going to hate these people just because they are rich.
But I digress. I am talking about Meghan as a mom. In the same article in the Cut referenced above, the author speaks of how the children, especially Archie, adore their parents. Archie was overjoyed to see his mother when she went to pick him up from school. This is normal, obviously. Almost all kids are happy to see their moms. But you can just tell that Meghan will be a good mom. Her mother seems to have been a good mother. She has stood stoically by her daughter through thick and thin. She has never betrayed her daughter in the press. This is so lovely. Meghan will be similar, I am sure.
She and Harry are very smart to keep the children out of the public eye. What a mistake it is, to expose "celebrity" children to the media and public like this. Supposedly, with the royal children, it is a duty. The parents have a duty to parade them for the country. It is an unspoken pact. But Meghan and Harry are in a different situation.
The children will thank her when they are older, that she did not expose them to the public when they were little. If they decide when they are older to seek publicity, then it is up to them. But she keeps them hidden and that is very good.
