Meghan, Duchess of Sussex Should Help Women Entrepreneurs in the Caribbean, by Collaborating with Brands

In the previous post, we suggested that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex should collaborate with various brands in the fashion industry to create her own line of hats, jewelry, shoes, clothing and skincare products. We also suggested that she could earmark between 10% to 50% of the proceeds of these collaborations to her charitable works.

One such thing she should consider doing is to set up grants for entrepreneurial women in the Caribbean. The Caribbean is part of the British Commonwealth countries. Some of the countries such as Antigua and Jamaica have indicated that like Barbados, they plan to end their membership in the Commonwealth and that the British Monarch will no longer be their head of state.

This does not mean that there has to be an end to all relationships between these countries and members of the royal family. Even though Meghan and Prince Harry will no longer be working members of the royal family, the entire world is still watching what they do and so to an extent, what they do will reflect on the royal family. By no means should this fact be used to limit their entrepreneurial inclinations.  Rather, it should be used to help as many people as they can.

By collaborating with a well-curated group of brands, Meghan Duchess of Sussex will obviously earn a lot of money. She could perhaps even become a billionaire. But she can also do a lot of good for her own brand, and the monarchy's brand because she can give back a lot of it to people who are underprivileged and disadvantaged.

The Duchess has shown that she is very concerned about women. But not often do you hear her or others speak about women in the Caribbean region. There are many smart, brilliant women in the Caribbean who could use some assistance getting their own businesses off the ground. By collaborating with brands, the Duchess can set aside a portion of the proceeds she receives to create financial grants to women who demonstrate entrepreneurial capabilities but who also need a helping hand with financing their projects. There is no reason why she cannot do this through Archwell.

It would be win-win for everybody if she were to consider doing that.
