Do Harry and Meghan Need the Headaches of Royal Titles?

Harry and Meghan have been absolutely besieged about the titles they were gifted by the late Queen Elizabeth. The media has been absolutely relentless. My big thing is that they don't need those titles to succeed and thrive. They can still live rewarding, fulfilled, and happy lives and raise well-adjusted children without being called "Duke and Duchess".

On the one hand, I am loathed to advise giving in to these people. I want to say hold on to the titles just to make them nuts. And maybe this is the right move because backing down all the time just makes you a victim.

But on the other hand, the titles are nothing. It's all semantics, optics, and puffery. It blows like the wind and can change at any minute.

The thing is, millions of people in the world do not have titles, and they are perfectly fine. Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates and Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez don't have "titles."

So what? Titles make them superior? Is that it?

It just seems such a big headache for something that is a little bit ridiculous. It sounds cute but what is it? It is words. People with titles still pee a few times a day. They eat, they cry, and they die like the rest of us.

Archetypes will still be the #1 podcast even if Meghan is just Meghan. She does not have to be "Duchess Meghan" to Succeed. Everyone knows who she is. She does not need titles. She should liberate herself from it.

The title might look better on Dickie Arbiter or Angella Levin. Or Megyn Kelly. They seem the most panicked and in need of soothing, so offer it to them as a Christmas present. Duchess Dickie Arbiter of Sussex has a nice ring to it, for example.

I would make the announcement on January 1, 2023, in their place. I would use my first name like "Madonna" does. But I am not in their place. Maybe there are things I don't know about having titles. It sure gives me a headache hearing these demons harping on this night and day.
